Happy Holidays
Hard to believe 2020 is finally coming to a close. It has been a roller coaster for us… we’re sure as with the rest of the world. Personal highs and lows as well as business highs and lows. As far as our business went, it was one of our busiest times that we have experienced between May and December. It seemed the world as a whole had been reevaluating their priorities. Many people have realized they need more space, or in some cases less, with all of this time spent at home. This shift in priority had more eyes set on our little slice of paradise, and more locals opting to move to larger properties (or in some cases, downsizing for less maintenance). It was a year of shifted focus and changing values.
All of our “big” plans and the things that we would usually focus on throughout the year were put on hold. This gave us a lot of time to reflect and focus on the ‘little things’ (and realized those things weren’t so little, after all). More time living in the moment and enjoying the simple pleasures (a crisp walk, fresh baked cookies, extended couch cuddle puddles with the kids).
We decided to extend our holiday cheer this year by putting up our decor a couple of weeks earlier than we typically would. Carols, baking and wrapping all done early to soak it all in just a little longer. Jakob wants to keep it all up until end of January but Jasmen negotiated him to mid month.
